Top 10 Biggest Pickup Trucks

Pickup trucks are found on roads across the country and throughout many different industries. Whether used as a work truck or a personal vehicle, pickup trucks have a lot to offer in terms of extra capacity, horsepower, and increased towing ability. Whether you enjoy off-roading, want to tow a boat, or need to haul furniture, a pickup truck can be exactly what you need.

Not all pickup trucks are created equal, though. Some are built bigger than others. These large pickup trucks can provide even more power and load capacity, especially when you need to haul heavy equipment back and forth from a job site.

These large trucks are not for everyone, however. Owning one of the biggest pickup trucks can cause problems with your budget — many big pickup trucks can be gas-guzzlers with low fuel economy, and they need frequent maintenance to continue to perform at their peak. These trucks are also just more expensive to buy than many other vehicles, or may not even be available to purchase to begin with.

If you’re curious about the biggest pickup trucks and want to learn more about each one, take a look at our list of the top ten biggest pickup trucks made.

Number 10: Lamborghini LM002

You may be surprised to see a Lamborghini on this list — the LM002, also known as the “Rambo Lambo,” is definitely a departure from the sleek, fast sports cars Lamborghini is known for. Manufactured back in the 80s and 90s, the LM002 was originally designed for military use, but was not well-received due to its size and complex mechanics.

At just under 6,000 lbs, this truck is a heavyweight vehicle. Powered by a 5.2-liter V12 engine, the truck boasts 455 hp and uses a 5-speed manual transmission to propel a steel frame with aluminum body panels. This truck is ideal for off-roading and related motorsports, but its limited production run makes it expensive.

Number 9: Hummer H1 Pickup

The Hummer H1 is another great off-roading choice. Also manufactured for military use, the H1 was made available to the public from 1992 to 2006. Different variations include a two-door pickup as well as a four-door SUV and soft-top convertible.

Depending on the configuration, this truck weighs in at around 7,800 to 8,110 lbs. Powered by a 6.6-liter turbo diesel V-8 engine, the Hummer H1 offers 500 hp and 1,000 lbs/ft of torque. With the addition of its impressive four-wheel drive, this vehicle is ideal for rough terrain and a variety of motorsports.

Number 8: Dodge Mega Cab RAM 3500

A more recent contender for the title of the biggest pickup truck, the Dodge Mega Cab RAM 3500 was manufactured as part of the ongoing RAM pickup truck line. Just like RAM’s reputation suggests, this RAM 3500 is a versatile vehicle with impressive performance.

With a curbside weight of over 7,000 lbs, this truck contains a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 engine that gives it 420 hp, 1,075 lbs/ft of torque, and 37,100 lbs of towing capacity, making it an ideal truck for hauling.

Number 7: Ford F-450 Super Duty

The ultimate in workplace trucks, DeBerti Design takes this seriously capable 2020 Ford F-450 Super Duty Platinum Crew Cab and ups the storage and styling to levels never before seen.

The biggest truck manufactured by Ford, the F-450 Super Duty comes in regular cab and crew cab configurations. Depending on the configuration, this truck weighs in at about 7,710 to 8,500 lbs.

With a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel V8 engine, this truck provides 475 hp, 1,050 lbs/ft of torque, and 37,000 lbs of towing capacity, making it another great choice for hauling anything from campers to heavy equipment.

Number 6: Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6

Named for its six wheels, the VelociRaptor 6×6 includes an extended truck bed and impressive suspension. This truck is essentially a modified Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew created to industry standards by Hennessey.

Weighing in at more than 5,690 lbs, the VelociRaptor 6×6 boasts an impressive 600 hp, granted by an enhanced 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. The truck’s enhanced proportions are reflected in a diminished turning radius and a lower torque of about 622 lbs/ft. Still, the vehicle’s impressive tires make it a good choice for rough terrain.

Number 5: Apocalypse Hellfire

Another truck with six wheels, the Apocalypse Hellfire is a Jeep that became available to the public in 2021. Like the VelociRaptor 6×6, the Apocalypse Hellfire is a modified vehicle with an extra axle and a longer truck bed — in this case, a full 8 feet of space.

With a weight of just under 6,000 lbs, the Apocalypse Hellfire can come with a 6.2-liter high-performance LS3 V-8 engine, which gives this vehicle an astonishing 707 hp. With the addition of an 8-speed automatic transmission, this rugged-looking vehicle can provide a smooth, powerful ride for you and your cargo.

Number 4: Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6

Yet another six-wheeled entry, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6 also gets much of its size from the accommodation of an extra axle. This big truck was manufactured as such until 2021 when Mercedes decided to leave off the truck bed.

This vehicle weighs over 9,000 lbs at the curbside. With a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, this truck produces 544 hp and a lower towing capacity of just over 7,710 lbs. With the addition of a variety of luxury features for which Mercedes-Benz is known, this truck can be a comfortable, powerful personal vehicle with some hauling capacity.

Number 3: International CV515 4×4 Pickup

The CV515 meets impressive international standards for on-road and off-road capabilities, making it an excellent choice for safety as well as performance. These trucks are manufactured by Navistar International, in a joint venture with General Motors.

The CV515 4×4 weighs in at a whopping 23,500 lbs and is equipped with a 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel V8 engine. With 350 hp, 700 lbs/ft of torque, and a towing capacity of up to 8,000 lbs, this truck can provide some serious power for hauling and traveling over rough terrain.

Number 2: International CXT

Another offering from Navistar International, the International CXT was manufactured from 2004 to 2008 as an “extreme truck” for industrial use.

At 10,500–14,500 lbs, this truck boasts some of the most impressive dimensions of any pickup truck ever manufactured, dwarfing most other pickups. This monster contains a 12 NPM DT466 turbocharged engine that grants it 220 hp, 540 lbs/ft of torque, and an astonishing 40,000 lbs of towing capacity.

Number 1: Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 5000

Mercedes-Benz swoops in to take our title for the biggest pickup truck in the world with the Unimog U 5000. A military truck now sold to the public, the Unimog U 5000 delivers fantastic off-road performance and includes a number of features for easier handling, such as a tire pressure control system and hydraulic power steering.

At over 27,550 lbs, this titanic truck is built for heavy-duty work. Its 6.4-liter OM906LA I6 engine provides it with 218 hp, 597 lbs/ft of torque, and 22,000 lbs of towing capacity.

As you can see, there are a number of impressive pickup trucks out there available for purchase. But bigger isn’t always better, especially if you’re working within a budget, and owning any truck outright can quickly get expensive.
